The band’s recent show at the Harrogate Theatre was reviewed by the ‘Stagey Lady’ blogger Jennie Eyres who said:
“The Upbeat Beatles brought the spirit of The Fab Four to life at Harrogate Theatre with an energetic, pitch-perfect performance that delighted Beatles fans of all ages. Their musicianship was truly impressive — tight harmonies, authentic vocals, and a clear mastery of both the early hits and the more complex later material. It’s obvious each band member is a multi-talented musician, effortlessly switching between instruments and nailing every part with precision.
A real highlight of the night was their multiple costume changes, cleverly aligning with key albums and iconic Beatles performances — from the mop-top suits of the early days to the psychedelic flair of the Sgt. Pepper era. These visual touches added authenticity and kept the audience excited for what was coming next.
The setlist was brilliantly chosen, though it must have been a tough job narrowing down the Beatles’ vast back catalogue. Classics like Hey Jude, Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds, and Twist and Shout sounded spot-on and had the crowd singing along with joy. The band’s warm rapport with the audience and their interactive, high-energy stage presence made it feel more like a real Beatles concert than just a tribute.
A couple of transitions between segments felt slightly scripted — but that’s a small point in an otherwise top-tier show. A brilliant night out and definitely a must-see for any Beatles fan!”
