The Upbeat Beatles Diary - February / March 2005

Hi folks!

First of all we must apologise for this latest entry into the diary being so late! What with everything that's been happening, we have been a bit remiss in reporting back to you all, but you can rest assured that business is booming and things are definitely on the up and up for the 'Upbeat Beatles'. You've only got to see the gig list to see what we mean!

The gigs during February and March have all been very well received. Among the highlights was the gig at the Thame Leisure Centre in Oxon. With help from Sue, we managed to saturate the town with posters advertising the show and were very pleased with the attendance (and the favourable review of the gig in the local paper), so much so that we're now set to make a "triumphant return" later in the year.

Another great night was at the village hall in Coxheath, Kent. It was a 'full house' and a great crowd; the atmosphere of the place made it feel like an authentic early Beatles gig-circa 1961. Many thanks to Brian for taking care of us at that one.

The Banqueting Suite at Lords Cricket Ground was also a great gig, as was Martin and Katherine's wedding reception in Tynemouth, Tyne & Wear.

We're very excited at the prospect of such a busy year ahead, and with final preparations being made for trips to Algeria, Jordan and Ireland, it really is going to be the busiest year yet for the band. Who would have thought back in the sixties that there would be so much interest in the Beatles after all this time?

Tickets will soon be available on this site for our shows at The Trinity Room, Corn Hall in Cirencester on October 14th and The Theatre on the Steps in Bridgnorth, Shropshire - two performances on November 11th.

We've said it before, but it's worth saying again - thanks to all the audiences that just keep making the 'Upbeat Beatles' concerts better and better!!
