The Upbeat Beatles Diary - December 2005Hi all! Thanks for taking the time to check out this page of the site. It's here to keep you up to date with what's been happening with the Upbeats over the last month or so. To see previous diary entries, click on the links at the bottom of this page, and don't forget that our comments page is now up and running, so we'd like to hear from you with your remarks and photos of recent shows! Hi Folks, Well, it looks as though winter is now firmly upon us and with the distant sound of sleigh bells getting ever louder, December is shaping up to be a very busy end to a very busy year! October and November saw the band working from one end of the country to the other. Among the highlights was our show at the Corn Hall in Cirencester (thanks for all the dancing - we promise we'll try to do the rest of your requests next time!) Another high point was our 'sell out' show at the Theatre on the Steps in Bridgnorth. We always look forward to returning to this venue (despite all the steps!) because it's got such a great intimate atmosphere. Other highlights were our show at Thame Leisure Centre (it was great to see so many of you turn out on such a cold night) and the staff Christmas party at the Stock Brook Country Club in Billericay - both nights were such great fun. As ever, our best wishes go out to the happy couples that we've been lucky enough to play for recently, especially Sharron and Darren in Tickton (hope you enjoyed the honeymoon!) and to Gemma and Roy in Billericay (nice stage dancing Gemma!) If you live in Scotland and you haven't seen the band before, or if you have seen the band and are wondering when we're next visiting a town near you, then this could be your big chance! On Friday 9th December we're playing at the Longmore Hall, Banff Road in Keith. Tickets are available on 01542 887536 or 07766 996033. Book now to avoid disappointment! News just in! We've been re-booked to play at the Halcombe Festival in Radstock in July 2007 - further details to follow. At the time of writing, the band have bookings in the diary for next year as far afield as Algeria, Italy, Scotland and Northern Ireland. There's plenty more in the pipeline too, so with interest in the real 'Fab Four' seemingly at an all-time high we think 2006 is going to be even busier than 2005 - phew! Here's hoping you all get what you want in your Christmas stockings - perhaps we could be among the first to wish you all a merry Christmas and a happy new year! Bye for now - The Upbeat Beatles.
