The Upbeat Beatles Diary - August 2004This month has seen even more frantic activity than last, with the boys headlining at a Festival in Northern Ireland and Party in the Park in Harwich. Both events were a fantastic success and the band would like to thank everybody across the water for looking after us in such style. We really got the '5 star' treatment! Irish hospitality, it seems, is second to none! We would also like to congratulate Harwich Town Council (especially Denise) on their success in putting together this, their first 'Party in the Park' event, because judging by how much the attendance exceeded expectations, it would certainly look as though it could be a regular fixture from now on. Other highlights this month have included some great corporate gigs, like the one for Leeds Dental School (despite the boys being stuck in traffic on the M1 for nearly nine hours!) and the gig in Liverpool - a ferry across the Mersey - very appropriate! For those of you with television (Sky Sports 1), look out for us on Friday August 13, as we run onto the pitch to do a set in front of something in the region of 30,000 rugby league fans at Odsal Stadium, Bradford - home of the Bradford Bulls. Wish us luck! Things are showing no sign of letting up for the foreseeable future either. As well as gigs all over the country, we're off to Scotland on the 24 September to play at the Loghgelly Centre Theatre (Bank Street, Lochgelly, Fife KY5 9RD - tickets are available from the theatre box office on 01592 418141 or through our website) and we're currently negotiating a trip to the 'Big Apple' for a one night show in October. So thanks again to everybody for looking after us at all the gigs and thanks to all of you who have been to one or more of our concerts recently. We hope you've enjoyed the shows as much as we have!
