The Upbeat Beatles Diary - April 2006

Thanks for taking the time to check out this page of the site. It's here to keep you up to date with what's been happening with the Upbeats over the last month or so. Hi Folks,

Well, the boys have done it again! February saw another successful trip to North Africa; with the band receiving an even more ecstatic reception than ever before, things are looking good for return trips later in the year (if their schedule can cope!!) Once again, many thanks to our hosts for their fantastic hospitality, it really was second to none. We’d also like to thank the inimitable Pete Aves for looking after our sound, for being our translator and for his ‘little dance’ in the nightclub!

Back in the UK, the band has enjoyed some great shows up and down the country. The birthday party for Andrew in Whitstable was great fun (10 out of 10 for the fancy dress costumes guys!) and the birthday party for David at Jongleurs in Nottingham was a rather good night too. Thanks also to Suzanne and Richard for their kind comments about the band’s performance at their wedding reception. With summer now firmly in our sights, we’re really starting to look forward to all the weddings that we’ve been fortunate enough to be booked to play at over the coming months. Don’t forget, if you’ve enjoyed one of our shows recently we’d really like to hear from you via the contact email address (see ‘Contact Us’ page) - better still, we’d love to see any photos you may have taken of the band!

We must also thank Paul and Steve for their work on filming the band’s new promotional DVD (we hope you made us look good!) As soon as the final edit has been agreed we’ll be able to post it on the website for you all to see!
