CommentsThe following comments are from the feedback we have received after our performances over recent months: 15th April 2008 Dear John, I just had to email and say how wonderful the band's performance was at my 60th birthday party on Saturday 12th April at The Ship Hotel in Brighton - everyone was blown away! My brain was transported straight back to 1964. Send my best wishes to George, John and Ringo. You all did a great job and made the evening. I hope I passed the audition? Warm wishes, - Brian Grimwood _________________________ Monday 24th March Dear John, This is a belated thank you to you and the rest of the 'boys in the band' (and Mick) for your excellent performance at my birthday party on Saturday 16th February. I came back from a week's holiday and I was flooded by letters and e-mails from friends at the party saying how much they've enjoyed themselves, and given that so many of my colleagues are so hard to please that really means something. Your performance was great and you can happily quote me - "this band really knows how to make a party come alive and get everyone to enjoy themselves, even my 87-year-old mother was able to forget her arthritis and get out of her chair to get on the dance floor - the perfect band for the perfect party". I really hope that my friends will do what they say and book you for their parties soon! Best wishes - Eric Watts _________________________ 21st March 2008 Dear John, As I sit here and try to put into words just what the band’s performance meant to me and my wife (at our wedding on 28th February), I am, for one of the very rare occasions in my life, fairly stumped for words. I don't think anybody could quite believe just how good you were, least of all my father in law, who just seemed completely blown away by the whole thing. As I mentioned on the evening itself, he had grown up in Liverpool, went to school with the boys and had been in a band that had shared the bill with the Beatles in those early days in Liverpool. As he put it, you guys had taken him back 50 years to those magical days at the Cavern. My mother-in-law, and all of the Liverpool side of the family were in complete agreement and I don't think that my praise could ever outweigh that of those who had seen the boys in their heyday. I want to thank you also for allowing me the honour of performing on stage with you. As I have explained to everyone since, I got to realise two life-long fantasies on my wedding day - marrying the woman of my dreams and performing with the Beatles! Life doesn't get much better. Emma was so surprised, and I think impressed that I could actually sing. The video replays suggest I even managed to nail the scream at the bridge too! All those days singing along in the car paid off! On a personal note, I want to thank you, John, for your time and your kindness. From our very first phone conversations I knew that in you we could trust our wedding day celebrations. You are the most genuine and decent person, and by the time the wedding came around I'd been on the phone to you so often that when we finally met, it felt like I was seeing an old friend. The band itself, from the awesome intro sequence, through the set, interaction with the crowd and fantastic set list, kept everyone dancing and totally enthralled. As I said, I don't think anybody could quite believe it. We'd told nobody you were playing, and everyone was just so impressed. You were, quite simply, outstanding. From your mannerisms to your sound, every part of your performance was spot on. And your DJ, too, played a set list that could not have been more perfectly suited to our (very specific) requests. You even ended the whole thing on ‘New York New York’, which is where we were engaged. Perfect, doesn't quite sum it all up. Emma and I will never be able to adequately thank you for making our wedding reception so much fun. I know you get a lot of emails from people thanking you for your performances, but I hope that you will convey my and Emma's thanks to the rest of the band for making our wedding day so completely unforgettable. Having you play our wedding was not simply a delight, but a genuine unrepeatable honour. I don’t think it was the easiest of shows (particularly as the audience just would NOT move to the front!!) However, the music was FAB and there was a great atmosphere. Working in events I can sympathise how hard it is to work with such a quiet audience, but the guys did great and got everybody on their feet. Also, just wanted to let them know that as they faced the audience, to the right there were some pillars and behind this there were twenty or so people that danced right through the second half.
